The AMCA Board

Board of Governors

Executive Cabinet

The Board of Governors is the governing body of the American Moot Court Association. They are responsible for overseeing all corporate powers and managing the affairs of AMCA, including the drafting and selection of case problems for competitions, electing officers, and establishing policies and procedures. Additionally, the Board can delegate certain powers to the Executive Cabinet, except for specific reserved powers such as amending the bylaws, approving budgets, and making final decisions on key governance matters.

The Executive Cabinet of the AMCA is a special standing committee consisting of seven members elected by the Board of Governors from among its own members. This cabinet assumes general supervision of the AMCA’s business and affairs. It is empowered to establish, amend, and interpret tournament rules and other policies, facilitate the drafting and selection of case problems, oversee day-to-day operations, and undertake strategic planning, among other duties.
